In 1956, Bill  Beach recorded his greatest Rockabilly hit, “Peg Pants” at King Records. In fact, it was so good that he was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame based on its popularity. In  an interview with Lee Hay on her radio show on WVXU, Around Cincinnati, Bill “Peg Pants” Beach talks about growing up in Kentucky, the famous musicians he met while he was performing on radio, and how Louie Innis at King Records asked him to speed up the song so it could be called “rockabilly.”

Lee Hay interviews William "Bill" Robert Beach, an American musician, regarding his connections with King Records. A "rockabilly musician", he was known as "Peg Pants." The interview was conducted over the phone for a segment on 91.7 WVXU, a radio station owned by Cincinnati Public Radio which produced a series of special programs about and in celebration of King Records. This recorded interview was utilized in the program production.
